Welcome to Worthington Youth Boosters Baseball
Worthington Baseball comprises the WYB recreation baseball program, the Worthington travel baseball program, and the Worthington Classic, our annual baseball tournament, which takes place around July 4th.  Please visit the website regularly for updates regarding these three programs.

Based upon feedback, Worthington Youth Boosters Baseball is excited to announce new, standardized uniforms for 2013 and beyond.
 
Baseball uniforms are not provided by WYB.  Uniforms are available for purchase at Egelhoff Sports (614-436-5700).  Please see your league homepage (use the links on the left) for detailed information and pricing.

Registration for Spring 2013 Recreation Baseball opened on April 1, 2013. The earlybird discount ends Monday, 4/15, so REGISTER NOW!
Umpires Needed for Summer '13

WYB is looking for interested high school students to help our Baseball Program by being an umpire. Earn extra money while supporting the great game of Baseball. 

All umpires are now required to register as an upmire at www.worthingtonbaseball.org. Please click on "Register Now" on the home page and complete the Umpire Registration process. A parent or guardian who is above 18 years of age is required to register all minors.

We are planning umpire training dates for the coming summer WYB baseball season.

Classroom sessions will be held at the Worthington Education Center at 200 E Wilson Bridge Road on the following dates and times:

Sunday April 7th 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Sunday April 14nd 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Sunday April 28th 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM


Mechanics Sessions will be held at the Worthington Parks / Recreation center or the adjoing ball fields at McCord Park

during the weekend of May 18th / 19th.
 

If you are a new umpire, you will be required to attend at least two of the classroom sessions and both mechanics sessions.

Returning umpires are required to attend at least one classroom and mechanics sessions.

Little League Bat Rules Update

SMALL BARREL BATS ONLY FOR THE FOLLOWING RECREATION LEAGUES: TEE BALL, COACH PITCH, 9/10, AND 11/12. THE MAXIMUM DIAMETER FOR THE BAT WILL BE 2 AND 1/4 INCHES. NO BIG BARREL BATS WILL BE ALLOWED, BATS WITH 2 AND 5/8 OR 2 AND 3/4 INCH DIAMETERS ARE PROHIBITED. THE REASON FOR THIS RULE IS PLAYER SAFETY.

IT WILL BE THE COACHES RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE PLAYERS ARE USING LEGAL BATS. UMPIRES WILL BE AWARE OF THE RULE. LEAGUE COMMISSIONERS WILL BE CHECKING IN ON GAMES TO ENSURE THIS RULE IS FOLLOWED. IF TEAMS VIOLATE THIS RULE THEIR GAME WILL BE SUBJECT TO FORFEIT.

Through the link at the top of this page (Documents) you can access several key documents: WYB Coaching Principles, an umpire application, information about umpire training, three codes of conduct, one each for parents, players and coaches, and a list of approved composite bats. Please familiarize yourself with the documents that are relevant to you. WYB expects all coaches, players and family members to conduct themselves appropriately at all WYB events. We are all role models for every child we encounter.

Please visit each division for specific information about that division. Various documents relevant to each division will be available there.
